LEARN TO SKI THIS WINTER!
Lesson sign up opens early December
Learn the important fundamentals of cross country skiing (classic or skating technique) over three weekly 90 minute lessons. Our ‘Learn to Ski’ series is the perfect way to get maximum enjoyment through this fun winter sport.
Students in our group lesson must be at least 15 years old. If you are looking for lessons with your children please choose our Family lesson option or consider a local Jackrabbits program for your youngsters.
What type of skier are you?
- New skier: For skiers new to skiing or getting back into it. You will learn to ski on flat terrain and how to safely negotiate gentle hills. Watch video
- Beginner: For skiers who can ski flats and gentle hills, and are looking to increase efficiency and explore longer trails. Watch video
- Intermediate: For skiers who want to find more efficiency in their technique and challenge themselves on hills and corners. Watch video
2025 – 2026 SKI SCHOOL PROGRAMS & SCHEDULE
Group Lessons are once per week for 3 weeks.
Session 1 of our group lessons starts in early Jan and Session 2 lessons start early Feb.
Register early!
Maximum 8 registrants per lesson for “New Skier”, 12 registrants for “Beginner” & “Intermediate”.
Registration closes 2 days prior to the first lesson.
Once a lesson group is full you may choose another available option or email windsorpark@ccsam.ca to be placed on a waiting list.

Skate ski technique
Learn the skate ski technique and you will wish winter lasted longer! Balance and gliding skills make this technique fast and fun.
Lessons are once per week for 3 weeks.

Equipment rental
Lesson fee includes trail pass. Rental equipment is extra.
Rental price (skis, boots, poles, 2 hrs): $17 per lesson
We have a large selection of cross country ski rental equipment. Still, sizes are limited and rentals cannot be reserved.
If you need to rent equipment please arrive 20 minutes before your lessons so staff can assist you.
Or, purchase your own equipment from a local ski shop.
PRIVATE & CUSTOM GROUP LESSONS
Learn any level or technique from an instructor catering to your needs and times.

Lessons are 60 minutes in length and must be paid in full when booked.
Private $60
Semi-Private (2 people) $37.50 per person
Custom Group (3-5 skiers) $30 per person
Family Group* $75
*Members of the same household. Maximum 2 adults and 4 children (8 to 17 years old).
Price includes trail fees and gst. Rental equipment is extra.
IMPORTANT: Please allow 3-4 days to arrange an instructor.
Once your lesson is booked we require 24 hours cancellation notice.
No refunds for “no shows”.
French speaking instructors are available for private & semi-private lessons upon request
Refunds & Cancellations
Payment is due at time of registration. This includes private or semi-private lesson bookings. Extra fees will be charged for rentals (if applicable). Payments accepted: Interac (on site only), Visa or MasterCard.
Refund Policy: Full refund with 48 hours+ notice before start of first lesson, 50% refund after start of first lesson. No refund after start of second lesson. Private, Semi-Private or Custom Group lesson fees will be refunded only if 24 hours notice is provided. All refunds are subject to an admin fee.
Cancellations: Lessons will be cancelled when air temp and/or windchill is -27ºC (or colder) during lesson time or due to challenging conditions such as heavy snow or high windchill. Windsor Park staff will contact participants at least 2 hours prior to lesson start time. Weather cancellations will be rescheduled to the end of the 3 week lesson set.
Missed lessons are not transferable. Please make every effort to attend your lessons. Missed lessons cannot be made up by joining another group.
